Wooden Toy Tractor
My son is turning Amish?
My eight year old son is acting very strangely. He has stopped watching TV, playing video games and will not turn on the lights is his room. He even resists riding in the car which led to a confrontation as we went to Seder at my mother’s house (we are Jewish). He sits alone in his room reading the bible and goes to bed as soon as it gets dark. Yesterday we found that he cut all the buttons off his shirts and wanted his mother to sew them on stating that “Buttons are proud.” He refuses to wear T-shirts with any printing on them and will only wear his boots or dress shoes with laces, not his sneakers. He wants us to buy him an all black wardrobe. He won’t touch any but the simplest toys – wooden tractors and horses and plays at tilling imaginary fields on his floor. I’m at a loss.
It’s just the Amish phase. All young boys go through that phase.
