What Is My Collectible Doll Worth

What do you know about the Pullip dolls? Are they worth buying over $20?
They’re too damn expensive. What makes it so much special than the regular dolls we see in stores? I know they have flexible joints, but so does the Liv dolls. I know you can move their eyes but I’ve seen other dolls you can do that to, I think, and they don’t cost 100s of dollars. I ask this question because my daughter’s b’day is coming up and she wants me to buy this doll. When I looked online what they are I was like “Oh how pretty. What!!??? They’re between $78-$500!!!! Wassup wit’ dat’? People are insane to buy this much for dolls. Yeah collectibles, right.
What makes the Pullip Doll so expensive? Well there are a couple factors.
First they have a unique eye mechanism and are more articulate then most dolls. There eye mechanism is actually unique to Pullip Dolls which means that no other brand of dolls have eyes like the Pullip Dolls. Their eyes can move back and forth and wink. They are more articulate than most dolls, and they have oversized heads.
But the real reason that Pullip Dolls are so expensive is that they are released on a monthly basis and when the release runs out, no more of that doll is ever made again. Each doll is in a sense it’s own “limited edition”. Think of the TY Beanie Baby craze when they would release “limited quantities” and when they were gone they were gone, it’s sort of like that, only with dolls.
Because of their limited production and release, they are considered collectibles. That is why they are so expensive.
