Vintage Rubber Dolls

I recently found a vintage Rushton Star Creation, doll. It really needs cleaned, but has the rubber face.?

I am afraid to put it in the washer, since the doll is from the 1950’s, and the face is hand painted(and rubber!) I fear the washer and or dryer would harm the face. Any tips on how to make this toy fluffy? and get it back to its original shape? The “fur” of the doll is dingy from dust collecting over the last 60 years in someones house. Please, any suggestions?

You never put a stuffed toy in the washer, ifs it very dirty it should be unstuffed and washed by hand in Woolite air dried and restuffed with chop sticks and stitched back up. Then use a dog brush that has the fine short wires and brush it gently.

Other wise you can use the paper wipes with cleaner for hands and or, And gently go over all of the fur. The plastic face part can be gently cleaned with soapy water making sure the paint does not come off.
