Would i have needed to see the previous saw movies to watch saw vii?

Ok, here’s the deal. I want to go to see saw vii having only seen the saw movie where saw dies and a girl takes over his work. The one where some policeman wants his son and threatens saw but in the end his son dies. Could i see saw 7 after only seeing that one saw movie or would i need more knowledge? maybe i should watch despicable me instead…. advice more needed asap please and thank you

Jigsaw and Amanda die at the same time. The cop’s son doesn’t die. You’re really confused. My advice would be to watch all of them in order, that way you can understand them. The plot is very complex, and there are all kinds of twists and new information in each movie. If you’re just watching for the gore then go ahead and watch this one. If you want to understand then watch them all, you’ll find out the killer’s motives, that he’s not just some random psycho. They’re good movies. Enjoy
