is this weird for a 6th grader?

i live with my aunt and her daughter is in 6th grade. well she has been carrying the same baby doll around since she was a toddler..she acts like it’s real..if you throw her baby doll or touch it she will scream at the top of her lungs and chase you and punch you..
she won’t do it jokingly either, she gets really serious if you even poke her doll lol.
then one time she threw a book at me out of no where, then i threw a pillow back at her (i didnt want to hurt her)…then she screamed and cried all the way up stairs to her mom….

No one you knew in was like that in public.

Does she carry the doll to school as well? Outside as well?

I would say the doll is her security blanket, and something in her life is unsettled. The doll makes her feel safe. I’d be interested to know what her homelife is like.

Counseling would probably be wise.
