What do they mean when cabbage patch dolls are “born”?
Often when refering to cabbage patch dolls they say that they are “born” but they’re just dolls.
I will assume that you do not have little girls or otherwise know any, nor have you ever been one.
Little girls often like to play house and want “babies” for Christmases and birthdays. By “babies” they mean baby dolls. Little girls often like to play “mommy” or “house”. Getting a baby doll that is born and has a birth certificate and a name make the fun of playing house that much more fun. When the birth certificate on a Cabbage Patch doll says “birth date” or “born” it is often the date or approximate date of manufacture.
