In the very end of dollhouse, season 2, what happened to echo?

She like, found a wedge (thing they imprint with) in an envelope with her name on it. And then she imprinted herself with it. Then she sees paul, even though he’s dead? I don’t get what the imprint did. ALSO, what is happening when she walks down the stairs and goes to lay in the bed/pod thing? I don’t get it at all. lol

Alpha gave her Paul’s personality imprint thing. Since Echo’s mind keeps every imprint she ever had in her head, after she download’s Paul, he is able to be with her in her mind for the rest of her life. So with that peace, she goes to lay back down and live out her days with Paul.
