What is the best way to replace a broken shingle on a dollhouse roof?

I have a fairly nice 10 room dollhouse that’s in need of some TLC. I brought it in as is condition and am working on restoring it. It was never completed by the first builder, so there is much I can fix without doing any damage. However there are several broken shingles and they are extremely well glued down. Does anyone have any helpful hints for removing the broken ones to replace them without tearing up the rest of the roof?

One tutorial I saw in the NAME magazine said you needed to figure out what the glue was first. If it was hot glue, you could use a directed flow of hot air to soften the glue and remove the shingles. It not, you would need a VERY thin and VERY sharp blade to push up under and over the shingle to cut the glue, then use pliers to pull out the shingle and replace it.
