Doll High Chair
Is there a name for this: A woman that treats/cares for a doll as a real baby? Talks to it shops for it, etc.?
This past weekend, I observed a woman at a restaurant ask a server for a high-chair for her “infant.” This “infant” was not real; it was a doll. Throughout the meals she spoke to it as though it was alive. Afterwards, she walked it out in a stroller and secured it in a car seat. Is there a name for this type of mental disorder and what causes it?
this person could have had a child that died and now sees the doll as the child. She needs real therapy and at a guess I would say she is more then likely getting help already. the people at the restaurant probably know her and that’s why it seemed as nothing out of the ordinary to them. don’t worry about it. take care good luck
