Corset designers continue to make corsets that give women the look of an hourglass figure together with the back support that a traditional corset gives. Corset dresses are the hottest thing this fall. It is such a wonderful change from the soft styles that show off every bulge that you would rather hide. You can wear a version of the new corset dresses to anywhere from a black tie event, prom, or even a date. The tailored shaping lends well in silks and satins for a formal look, but can also be made of cottons for everyday dress up.
Figure Flattering
Corsets have been around for a long time. In the beginning they where things of torture because they were meant to create an unrealistic hourglass figure. Shapely is good but we no longer needed to go to extremes that will simply take your breath away. Now days women are not expected to have a 24 inches or less waist any longer. The best part is that corsets are now made of more flexible materials. They will cinch you in all the right places while still letting you breath.
Put your own Together
A corset dress does not have to come in one piece. You can easily go with separates to put your look together. If you are not finding exactly what you want, then look for the pieces separately. You can find wonderful corsets on lingerie website and in stores. You do not need to match the colors. Contrasting colors look wonderful to, plus you can get greater wardrobe flexibility. Mix your dressy pieces with more casual ones. You can even mix solids and patterns.
Show as Much Skin as You Want to
When you usually think of corsets you might be picturing something revealing that only belongs under clothes. If you are interested in this type of flirty dress, but would like to keep a little more covered up then that is not a problem. Corsets come in all styles from the more classic under bust style to having full cups on top. The old fashion under bust type is the easiest to layer to get the most coverage, even sleeves are possible. You might consider going to a seamstress to get this made for you.
