Why does USPS prohibit shipment of goods to Australia that bear the name “Anzac”?
according to http://pe.usps.com/text/Imm/ab_012.htm#ep1572941
one cant send such items to Australia, however many Aussies on Ebay are selling philatelic items (collectible stamps) and other memorabilia of Anzac (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps).
They are trying to prevent the inappropriate use of the name, as Anzac is a significant thing for Australians.
For example, they would not permit the importation of Anzac toasters or Anzac condoms.
That is the intent of the prohibition. An Australian stamp that bears the word ‘Anzac’ is obviously not in the same category.
