Some must-see spots in Naples, especially if you’re with your family, are the Naples Aquarium among the oldest aquariums in Europe which contains about 200 species of marine plants and fish is; the Ristorante A’ Fenestella on Marechiaro; Teatro di San Carlo if your hubby is an opera enthusiast; the Phlaegrean Fields, where a massive earthquake occurred in 1980.  Also shaping the Neapolitan character is Vesuvius, an active volcano that can annihilate a million people if it chose to.
If sculptures are among the main interests of one of your traveling companions, a must-see pace is the Palazzo Reale (The Royal Palace) that was constructed during the early 17th century. It features sculptures of Naples monarchs, and a museum. It dominates Piazza del Plebiscito, and had been renovated and redecorated by different rulers, including Napoléon’s sister Caroline and her ill-fated husband, Joachim Murat, who ruled Naples for a short time.
A lover of paintings? Museo e Gallerie di Capodimonte should definitely be on your itinerary. This museum, which occupies a restored 18th century palace atop a hills, contains remarkable collections of Renaissance paintings and Flemish masterpieces plus other great works. by Masaccio, Filipino Lippi. Raphael. Bellini, and Michelangelo.
The Naples National Archaeological Museum, one of the must-see museums, contains some of the most important artifacts of the Roman and Greek Empires, not to mention antiques acquired at Pompeii and Herculaneum. The Museo di Capodimonte features 13th to 18th century paintings of Italian masters. The Naples Archeological Museum also houses  Roman sculptures.
Another landmark of Naples, the Certosa di San Martino which used to be a monastery complex contains artifacts Spanish and Bourbon eras, among others. Other museums you may find time to visit are the Villa Pignatelli and Palazzo Como.
At the end of your sightseeing tour, savor Italian cuisine in the exuberant city. Grab the opportunity to eat pizza where the real Neapolitans go. There’s Pizzeria Brandi or Da Michele, or Trianon a Forcella. Or check out a wine bar and restaurant where Neapolitans savor satisfying dishes like gnocchi with melted buffalo mozzarella accompanied by exquisite wine.
