Calico Critters: The Furbanks Slide Show
The Calico Critters are those beloved little toy figures that little kids love to play with. They are 3 inch high animals dressed in Little House on the Prairie style clothing. I would say they are more aimed at girls but some of the homes that you can get for these little critters are bound to appeal to boys too. One point in case is the Calico Critters tree house. And the Windmill looks like a lot of fun too.
The Calico Critters tree house is basically a bit of an adventure park for the critters. It is run by the Mango Monkeys who turned a derelict and slightly unstable looking old oak tree into a place where the families come of a summer day to enjoy a bit a sun and down a rather delicious tasting Mango smoothie (which is based on the Monkey’s mom’s secret recipe).
The tree house is approximately 18 inches high and this allows for four rooms, one on top of each other. So it is a four story building where the Calico critters can socialize with the other families or just watch their kids have a bit of fun on the water slide.
When the kids are off playing with their friends on the slide or just around the tree house, the adults can watch them in the lap of luxury (well by Cloverleaf corners standards anyway). You see, on each side of the third floor of the tree house is a spa (hot tub) and a pagoda.
The moms and dads can sit in the spa as they swig on their smoothies or for the more demure (like Mrs Furbanks the Squirrel) they can sit in the pagoda and sip on a mint tea.
The toy is an idea play set for kids that have a few of the lovable toy animal figures and some furniture too. You see, although it is totally complete and easy to set up, it doesn’t come with any furnishings or characters. Apart from the Mango Monkeys that is, but they really need some pals to get the tree house rocking. The tree house is cool enough for even boys to like to play with it (or play with their sisters Calico Critters that is)
Other Calico critters toys that will interest boys and girls in equal measure is the Windmill. This also has lots of little bit’s and pieces that will fascinate the kids. For example there are balloon baskets on the windmill that act as elevators or even a staircase to get up and down the building.
Kids will like to have their favorite little character going up and down and generally playing in the Windmill. It is also one of the few Cloverleaf Corners buildings that can be built on, so to speak. You can buy extra levels or floors to make it the biggest building in the land.
