Where do you think little kids get the whole idea of the entire “Fashion Barbie” yadda yadda yadda idea?

I’ve noticed lately, (and this might be just me) that little kid’s Barbie Doll and such and such commercials have been turning into basically clips of Victoria’s Secret model shows.
Why do you think toy companies put such an influence on the youngsters? Do you think this seems to influence the “teenager-fashion-fun-puppy-kitty-boyfriend-mall-coffee-blahblahblah” thing? If so, how?

I agree. I have a little cousin who is at the Barbie age and I can’t believe what I see when I babysit her. I think they put this influence on them because it sells toys. Look at who these kids have as role models…pop stars and girl bands who are made up of promiscuous teens. Nevertheless these girls want to be like these people and by advertising this way, Barbie sells toys. It’s pretty sad huh?
