How would you dress up as Barbie on Halloween?

Hair, Dress, Shoes, Makeup, Ect..
I’m not blonde, and I don’t want to wear a wig. Will that matter?

Look at as many Google pictures of Barbie as possible, and you’ll see what things crop up most often, and define the Barbie look. The main things are of course, the long platinum blond wig – it would be very difficult to do Barbie without the Blonde hair. To make it a bit more pleasant cut off the foot of some pantyhose and use this to keep your real hair down and to stop your head from itching. You should get a good wig in most city centers for about £6/$10. Bright blue eyes and pink lipstick are barbie staples but the blue eyes aren’t essential. Barbie has little dimples by the side of her mouth as well, and usually wears her hair in a high ponytail, its not difficut to do this with the wig. If you have dirty blond hair, but its not very long, you can work out some strands near the fringe line and brush them into the wig for extra authenticity. Of course Barbie wears pink stuff, but perhaps you could go as a themed Barbie, like veterinarian Barbie, in which case a $10/£13 costume will do the job. And you have a great opportunity for props. You could also go as Air stewardess barbie from Toy story in which case a cheap suit and kneck scarfe will do it. if you’re on a budget, Charity shops are a good place to find pink dresses and cheap suits and such. People should get who you are, because she’s so recognisable. Depending on whether you’re going for good fancy dress, or just want to look hot, you could even apply som body gloss so you look plastic, and if you use an eye pencil, you can make your head and arms look detachable, just like real barbie. I went as a puppet once and i used a line of masking tape around my neck and on the bottom of the tape, i smudged a thick line of black eye pencil and took the tape off so t looked like shadow from two disjointed parts, quite convincing!
